Fore Street Church was built in 1831 by local fishermen, previous to this meetings were held in local sail-lofts. It started as a Primitive Methodist Church until 1932 when it merged with the Methodist movement
. The building still remains the same externally bearing the name "Primitive Methodist Church".
Fore Street Methodist Church is a friendly christian community where everyone is welcome. We are a fellowship of like-minded followers of Jesus Christ which is God Honouring, Christ Centred and Holy Spirit led; where people matter, love is shared and the gospel is preached. Our vision is to make an impact for God, to be His followers and to teach His word. Whether local or visiting, holiday-makers are all welcome.
